چکیده
This chapter discusses networked robots, multiple robots operating together coordinating and cooperating by networked communication to accomplish a specified task. This chapter presents an overview of the field with an emphasis on recent results and research challenges. Multiple robots enable new capabilities and the communication network enables new approaches and solutions that are difficult with just perception and control. Communication enables new control and perception capabilities in the system (e.g., access to information outside the perception range of the robot system). Conversely, control enables solutions for problems that are difficult without mobility (e.g., localization). Section 41.1 defines the field, examines the benefits of networking in robot coordination, and discusses applications. Section 41.2 highlights a few projects focused on networked robotics and discusses the application potential of the field. Section 41.3 discusses the research challenges at the intersection of control, 41.1 Overview.............................................. 943

Reduction of Computational Complexity in Finite State Automata Explosion of Networked System Diagnosis (RESEARCH NOTE)
This research puts forward rough finite state automata which have been represented by two variants of BDD called ROBDD and ZBDD. The proposed structures have been used in networked system diagnosis and can overcome cominatorial explosion. In implementation the CUDD - Colorado University Decision Diagrams package is used. A mathematical proof for claimed complexity are provided which shows ZBDD ...
متن کاملDesigninga Neuro-Sliding Mode Controller for Networked Control Systems with Packet Dropout
This paper addresses control design in networked control system by considering stochastic packet dropouts in the forward path of the control loop. The packet dropouts are modelled by mutually independent stochastic variables satisfying Bernoulli binary distribution. A sliding mode controller is utilized to overcome the adverse influences of stochastic packet dropouts in networked control system...
متن کاملModelling and Compensation of uncertain time-delays in networked control systems with plant uncertainty using an Improved RMPC Method
Control systems with digital communication between sensors, controllers and actuators are called as Networked Control Systems (NCSs). In general, NCSs encounter with some problems such as packet dropouts and network induced delays. When plant uncertainty is added to the aforementioned problems, the design of the robust controller that is able to guarantee the stability, becomes more complex. In...
متن کاملStabilization of Networked Control Systems with Variable Delays and Saturating Inputs
In this paper, improved conditions for the synthesis of static state-feedback controller are derived to stabilize networked control systems (NCSs) subject to actuator saturation. Both of the data packet latency and dropout which deteriorate the performance of the closed-loop system are considered in the NCS model via variable delays. Two different techniques are employed to incorporate actuator...
متن کاملA Review of Middleware for Networked Robots
Networked robotic systems consist of a collection of interconnected components (being multiple robots working together or robots working with external systems such as wireless sensor networks or servers). These components require cooperation and collaboration to achieve a common goal. However application development for such collaborative distributed systems composed of many robots with sensors...
